The standard allowance for 2026/27

The standard amount is £12,570. You share it across your income; you do not get another allowance for each job.

When it is reduced

Adjusted net income above £100,000 reduces the standard allowance by £1 for every extra £2. It reaches zero at £125,140. Other adjustments can also affect your tax code.

Checking an old payslip

Choose the tax year the payslip belongs to. The calculator shows the rates and assumptions for that year rather than applying today’s allowance.
